Reporting infringement
If you believe that content accessible through Velara infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our designated agent. We will review valid notices and act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the reported material on our end.
Please send notices in English when possible, and include every item in the checklist below so we can act on your request quickly.
What to include in your notice
Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)), a valid notice must contain:
- A physical or electronic signature of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed, or of a person authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed. If multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list of those works is sufficient.
- Identification of the material you believe is infringing, with enough detail (such as the exact URL on Velara) for us to locate it.
- Your contact information, including a mailing address, a telephone number, and, if available, an email address we can reply to.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the complained-of use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
Counter-notices
If you believe material was removed in error, you may send a counter-notice including your contact information, identification of the removed material and its prior location, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification. Counter-notices can be sent to the same email address.
Repeat infringers
Accounts that are the subject of repeated, valid infringement notices may be suspended or terminated at our discretion.
Third-party sources
Because the underlying media is hosted by third parties, the fastest path to full removal often involves contacting the source as well. We are happy to help point you in the right direction where we can.
